Warehouse Manager

Department: Warehouse
Location: Dearborn, MI

The Warehouse Manager oversees all areas of the warehouse inventory operation. Also manages all Hilo drivers and schedules. Ensures customer objectives and profitability goals are being met or exceeded, as well as employee safety and well-being. Strong warehousing operations professional.


  •   Distributes picks and coordinates material flow to production.
  •   Oversees all inventory control warehouse programs
  •   Oversees all SAP movements and ensures all material is being scanned properly.
  •   Follows up with materials manager as to any inventory discrepancies.
  •   Collects materials data for the cost improvements meetings.
  •   Ensures inventory accuracy to 95%.
  •   Oversees activities and responsibilities of all Distribution, Shipping and Receiving personnel.
  •   Coordinates daily workload between the available resources.
  •   Ensures all procedures are followed by all Distribution personnel.
  •   Performs or reviews random audits of staging locations, ensuring they are done.
  •   Ensures adequate training of new employees and hilo drivers, retraining and cross-training existing personnel to allow for a flexible workforce and opportunities for advancement.
  •   Issues warning notices to direct reports for any rules violations.
  •   Coordinates vacations/time off of direct reports.
  •   Hire and train staff.
  •   Conduct various training to include SAP.
  •   Performs other duties as assigned. Including general leadership for other areas.
  •   Audits and maintains cleanliness and organization of all warehouse areas
  •   Self-motivator; ability to work independently under general guidance and direction. Comes to the table with solutions to the issues in their areas of responsibility.
  •   Able to manage hi-stress situations and results focused. Pus in the hours to get the results.
  •   Long term training and planning strategist. Making the area their “OWN”.

SPECIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS (List specific skills required but not defined in Description)

  •   College Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  •   Good communication, instruction and leadership skills to direct the work of others
  •   SAP warehousing management, bar code, shipping/receiving, and ASN/EDI/MRP experience.
  •   Ability to effectively use all relevant systems in the warehouse, programs and equipment
  •   Any Warehouse/inventory value accounting experience preferred.
  • Preferred but not required:
  •   Chrysler SMART system experience, Covisint, Ford DDL, 830/850/862 releases experience.
